Anton Euper, a retail liquor dealer of Fort Smith, Ark., was born in the Kingdom of Prussia in 1836. His parents, Anton and Beatrice Euper, were born in Germany, the former bearing reared in the Kingdom of Wurtemburg. He was a wagon-maker by trade, and in 1849 came to America, landing at New Orleans, and came directly to Fort Smith, where he worked at his trade the first few years, and afterward kept a boarding-house. He was born in 1800 and died in 1869. Only two of his ten children are now alive. Anton, Jr., came with his father to the United States, and served an apprenticeship at the wagon-maker’s trade, and has since been occupied in various callings, being now engaged in the retail liquor business. He is a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He was united in marriage to Pauline Grober, a daughter of Frederick Grober, one of the pioneer settlers of Fort Smith. His wife was born in the Kingdom of Prussia, and is the mother of five children: Tony, George, Frank, Ida and Rauling. The first child born to Mr. and Mrs. Euper died when an infant. Mrs. Euper is a member of the Lutheran Church.
