Viele; born in Worcester Co., Md., Dec. 22, 1832; removed to Clermont Co., Ohio, in 1843; came to Lee Co. in 1846, first settling in Montrose Tp.; then removed to where he now lives. Married Miss Sarah J. Kearn in 1854; she was born in Coles Co., Ill., April 28, 1836; have seven children — Charles A., born Jan. 13, 1855; James H., Oct. 12, 1856; John A., Dec. 10, 1858; Thomas H., Oct. 28, 1860; Annie B., Dec. 12, 1863; William E., May 21, 1866; Mary F., Nov. 4, 1868. Mr. Petty owns 120 acres of land. Republican.
