J. R. GRAHAM was born August 6, 1842, in Marion County, Ky. He is a son of Marcus and Isabella (Cunningham) Graham. The father was born in Ireland in 1795, came to Virginia in about 1815, and was engaged in peddling dry goods about ten years, after which he came to Marion County, Ky., and there he remained until his death, which occurred in 1874. The mother died in 1858, aged fifty-three years. Our subject came to Hickman County in 1869, where he has since been engaged in farming and trading; he resides on his farm of 100 acres about one mile east of Clinton; he also owns several other farms in this county. He was married, in 1869, to Ruth M., daughter of the late Hercules Hays, one of the oldest and best farmers of Hickman County; these parents have had six children, four sons and two daughters, and are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
