ZACH. P. HOLLAND, McCracken County, was born January 13, 1858, upon the place where he at present resides. His father, Zachariah P. Holland, was born in Warren County, Ky., April 13, 1812. When he be came of age he moved to Christian County, where he married Margaret, daughter of Duncan and Nannie Galbreath, August 1, 1842. In the autumn of 1849 he came to McCracken County, and here departed this life September 12, 1880. He was the father of four children, of whom three are living. Our subject was reared on a farm and attended the schools of the vicinity, which limited education was supplemented by a course of study at Woodville, and at Elkton, Todd Co., Ky. He then lived with an uncle three years. Before his father’s death, the home place had been given to him and his brother, Anderson, whose interest he afterward purchased. He has since given his attention to farm pursuits, and is now one of the most enterprising young men of the county.
