Below is a family biography included in the book, The History of Lewis County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1887. Dr. Joe McReynolds (deceased) was born in Buncombe County, N. C., in 1811. He came to Marion County with his parents, when a young man. He received a good academic education, and then began the study of medicine, and graduated at Keokuk, Iowa. He soon after located in Knox County, and began practice. About a year later, however, he came to this county, where he afterward resided. His children are Josiah R., Ruth A. and Joseph B. Our subject died January 6, two years ago. He and his wife long held to the Baptist faith.
