William Boone Frost, a farmer, was born near Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tenn., November 19, 1846, and is the son of Thomas Wright and Polly (Boone) Frost, whose ancestors were early settlers of Tennessee. William Boone, the subject of this memoir, was reared in Washington County, Ark., where his father had located in 1852. At the breaking out of the late war he enlisted in the Confederate service (as also did his father) and remained in active duty until the close of the war. After that eventful struggle he came to Newton County, Mo., where he has remained, engaged in farming, ever since, having located where he now lives in 1883. While in Washington County, Ark., he married Miss Mary Ann Ramsey, daughter of Michael and Belinda (Commons) Ramsey, natives of Lincoln County, Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Frost have one son and one daughter living, Everett and Minerva May, and had the misfortune to lose one child, a daughter, named Cener Boone, who died at the age of two years and three months. Mr. Frost has served on the school board of his district several times, and is a Master Mason. He and wife worship at the Methodist Episcopal Church. He has 120 acres of good land.
