Below is a family biography included in the book,  Biographical Souvenir of the Counties of Buffalo, Kearney, Phelps, Harlan and Franklin, Nebraska published in 1890 by F. A. M. G. HOOPER, a citizen of Orleans, Harlan county, Nebr., is a native of Prince Edward Island, Dominion of Canada, was born December 8, 1837, and lived with his parents till twenty years of age, when he left for St. John’s, New Brunswick, and from there to Portland, Me., and then to Boston, then to New York, and left for San Francisco, Cal., in 1860. He stayed in California and Idaho and Montana till 1868, and after going home to see his parents came to Chariton and married Pocahontas Millan in December, 1870 and in 1872 came to Orleans, were he has resided ever since.
