JOSEPH S. WILEY, farmer; P. O. Piqua; was born in this county Oct. 12, 1840, and is a brother of William J. Wiley, whose sketch appears in some part of this work; J. S. was brought up to farm labor, and devoted a part of the winter months of his early life to the privileges of school, thereby receiving a fair education; he has, for a number of years, been the owner of a fine farm of 100 acres in Sec. 25, which is well improved; since his majority, has been elected to and filled several township offices. Oct. 10, 1871, married Nancy Robison, who was born in this county Sept. 15, 1844; two children have been born to them— Howard G. and Maggie B. E.
