The tombstone and grave site of Aneta L. Corsaut, best known as Helen Crump, on The Andy Griffith Show. Corsaut was born on November 3, 1933 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Her first film appearance was in the movie, The Blob, along with another young actor named Steve McQueen. Her most well known role was as Opie Taylor's school teacher, Helen Crump. After a rocky start to their relationship, Sheriff Andy Taylor and Helen Crump develop an ongoing romantic relationship. Between 1963 and 1968, Corsaut appeared in a total of 66 episodes of The Andy Griffith Show plus two episodes of the series sequel, Mayberry R.F. D. (1968-69) which featured the wedding of Andy and Helen during the first episode.

After leaving The Andy Griffith Show, Corsaut made a number of appearances in a wide variety of television shows and films. During 1984, Corsaut was a series regular as Blanche Dailey on the soap series, Days of Our Lives. In 1986, Corsaut again appeared as Helen Crump Taylor in the 1986 movie, Return To Mayberry. Her final roles were in 1987 to 1992 as Judge Cynthia Justin in seven episodes of Matlock which featured Andy Griffith as Ben Matlock in the title role.

Aneta L. Corsaut died of cancer on November 6, 1995, just three days after her 62nd birthday, in Studio City, California. Her remains are buried in Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery, North Hollywood, California.
