Eureka, Colorado, Street Scene, 1900, historic photo

A historic photo view of a Street Scene, Eureka, Colorado. Signs that can be read include: Feed, Stable, Saloon, Star Tobacco, Miners Home, Restaurant, and Smoke Bull Durham. This was a gold mining town established in the 1870's. After the Sunnyside Mill closed in 1939, the town declined quickly and is now a ghost town with only the jail building and some foundations remaining.

This photo is by photographer William Henry Jackson, Detroit Publishing Co., about 1900.
